We're parents too, and this is the part we would want to read first. Here is exactly
what happens to your family's mail, and what never does. Every line below is also in the
privacy policy, in more words.
Read-only, and not by promise
We can read your mailbox. We cannot change it: no marking read, moving, deleting,
replying or sending. The software has no way to, and that is verified by tests.
We don't keep your emails
Message content is deleted after thirty days. What stays is the short list it
produced: an action, a date, a sentence, and which email it came from.
Never used to train AI
The AI we use is contractually barred from training on your data. One family's mail
is never used to change how the product behaves for another.
Only the senders you choose
You decide which senders are about your kids: the school district, the band
director, the payment portal, even the gymnastics gym. Mail from anyone else is set
aside without being opened, which is about four in five messages. Your bank
statements are not our business.
In the United States, encrypted
Processed and stored in the US, encrypted in transit and at rest. Mailbox
credentials live in a secrets vault, never in ordinary storage and never in a log.
Yours to delete, any time
Delete your family from Settings. Access ends immediately, processing stops, and
everything is permanently gone after a thirty-day recovery window.
Children have no accounts, nothing is collected from a child, and no one reads your mail
except for limited, audited troubleshooting you can read about in
who can see your information.
Our story
We're a mom and dad with three kids: one in high school, one in middle school, one in
elementary. Three schools, three sets of teachers, a band director, a coach, the
district office, and a PTO for each. Some weeks the school email ran to forty messages.
For a while we kept up. Then there were weeks we didn't read any of it. A permission
slip went unsigned, a payment got missed, and we found out from the kids, after the
fact. Asking a twelve-year-old to relay what the school said turned out not to be a
system either.
We didn't want another app to check. We wanted the mail we already had to sort itself:
which child, what's owed, and when. So we built that for our own family first. This is
it, still small, still ours, and now open to a few families who recognise the problem.
Nothing here replaces reading what your school sends you. It makes the pile smaller and
tells you which part of it you actually owe someone.
How it works

You connect a mailbox
Outlook or Gmail, with read-only access you grant and can withdraw at any time. You
tell us your children's names, grades and schools.

It finds the school mail
Sender and subject are checked first, and only messages that look school-related are
opened at all. Roughly four in five are set aside without being read.

It sorts by child
Each message is attributed to the child it concerns, using grade, school and
activity. When it cannot tell, it asks you rather than guessing.

You get one digest
A single email each morning: what needs doing, what is coming up, and what simply
happened. The app holds the same thing with a bit more detail.
What it never does
These are not preferences that could be changed by a setting. Access to your mailbox is
read-only, and that is enforced in the software rather than merely promised.
It never marks a message read or unread.
It never moves, archives or deletes anything.
It never applies a label or a folder.
It never replies to a message, and never sends mail from your account.
It never sells your information or uses it for advertising.
It never uses one family's mail to change how the product behaves for another family.
About children's information
School mail is about children, so this product handles information about children. It
comes from your own mailbox and from what you type. Nothing is collected from a child
directly, children have no accounts, and there is no way for a child to interact with
the product.
Message content is kept for thirty days and then deleted.
The privacy policy sets out the detail, including
what is kept for longer and what happens when you delete your family.
Using Gmail data
When you connect a Gmail account, this application requests one scope,
gmail.readonly, and nothing else. It is used only to find and summarise
school communications for you, which is the feature you connected it for.
Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the
Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not transfer that data except as
needed to provide these features or as required by law, we do not use it for
advertising, and we do not let people read it except with your consent, for security,
to comply with law, or for the limited and audited troubleshooting described in the
privacy policy.
